2001
Like-minded friends made a few notes on the back of a napkin and decided to incorporate a company. Emagine was born as a supplier of early 2000's computer hardware and website design for small businesses.
2005
Due to continued success and growth, Peter and Aaron quit their day jobs to become full-time directors. Emagine hires its first employee and we branch out into branding and graphic design.
2006
We move the company to Arclabs Innovation Centre on the campus of Waterford Institute of Technology and add two more employees. Emagine relaunches the new improved website for WIT - our biggest website to date.
2007-2009
We survive the global recession with a tightened belt and hard work. Ireland has another recession in 2009 and we circle the wagons to survive the storm.
2011
Michael D. Higgins becomes President of Ireland. Emagine wins the tender to produce his online window to the world. With a visit to Aras an Uachtarain and President.ie launched, we continue to expand our workforce.
2013- 2014
Emagine shifts gradually into the idea of online tourism, with a string of festivals added to our stable of projects. Winterval, Harvest, Cat Laugh's, and Kilkenomics keep us designing and creating digital content all year-round.
2015
Emagine moves out of Arclabs, to our own studio in Waterford City. 21 William street becomes our new 2800 sq foot open-plan creative space. Expansion finds us opening an office in Celbridge, Co. Kildare.
2016
We are introduced to Virtual Reality with the Oculus DK1 Dev Kit and are instantly sold on the concept. The mind races as James Tubbritt joins the company and we embrace Virtual Reality company-wide.
2017
Emagine wins the contract to produce "King of The Vikings, The Worlds' First Viking Virtual Reality Experience". The entire company contributes to the story and its realisation.
2018
King of the Vikings launches in may and is an instant commercial success. We win 5 more location-based tourism experiences and expand our team.
2019
One the back of our continued success, Emagine launches a Viking Project in Norway, and a Roman experience in Split, Croatia.
2020
With 14 employees and a bright future, the global pandemic hits, and is expected to last a couple of weeks. We work on existing projects and hunker down for the long winter.
2021
With no tourists and the entire world in lockdown for the foreseeable future, we concentrate on our offering. Using our custom app development skills, we convert our Virtual Tourism software into training tools for the future workforce.
2022- 2023
After a myriad of strategy sessions, Emagine removes all services apart from Virtual Reality Tourism and Training from it's offering. We shake our COVID hangover and start new international projects with a renewed enthusiam.
2024
Ever changing, we adapt our products to the onset of AI and we move to smarter, 'Augmented Intelligence' within our installations and software. Virtual Reality becomes and extension of our client's needs. We launch another international project in Sarajevo, Bosnia.
